New Smyrna Beach

Just an hour’s drive from Orlando, New Smyrna Beach offers a lovely drive-on Atlantic coast beach like that of Daytona, but quieter and with the feeling of an historic hometown. New Smyrna Beach has many small shops and cafes, a thriving arts community, and its beaches are wide and flat with golden-hued sands. Its Apollo Beach is part of the extensive Canaveral National Seashore that continues to the south; all natural and minimally developed.  The areas that surround New Smyrna create perfect opportunities for outdoor recreational activities. These include: fishing; sailing; motor boating; golfing; and hiking. Visitors also have the opportunity to take part in water sports as well, such as swimming, scuba diving, kite surfing and surfing. Along with being voted number 9 for best surf towns by Surfer Magazine, the beach has also been named to National Geographic’s list of the World’s Top 20 Best Surf Towns.
